Knapp Winery & Vineyard Restaurant

Knapp Winery can boast a number of firsts in the Finger Lakes. They cultivated some of the first vinifere ("Old World" or "European") grapes along Cayuga Lake. Theirs is also the first winery in the Finger Lakes Appellation to plant and vinify the grape variety Cabernet Franc. What's more, the Vineyard Restaurant is the first winery restaurant on Cayuga Lake!

Co-owner Gene Pierce, one of the owners of Glenora Wine Cellars (the first winery on Seneca Lake) is among the pioneers of the Finger Lakes grape growing region. He oversees the sixty-five acre Knapp estate including forty acres of which are currently cultivated for growing estate Riesling, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Lemberger, Sangiovese, Merlot, Baco Noir, Cayuga, Catawba, Seyval, Vignoles and DeChaunac.
